Grill Attendant/Cook

Position Summary (Part-Time)

 

Grill Attendants operate various cooking equipment and a point-of-sale terminal, and serve customers by preparing and serving food, soft drinks, and other beverages. Attendants also clean the grill area and equipment.

Grill Attendant positions are part-time (approximately 20-30 hours per week). Work schedules may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. At times throughout the year multiple events require attendants to provide coverage beyond their normal work schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Takes orders, and prepares, cooks, and serves quick, easy-to-make food.
  • Serves soft drinks and other beverages.
  • Operates, maintains, and cleans food cooking surfaces and equipment.
  • Operates a point-of-sale terminal.
  • Performs simple mathematical calculations.
  • Provides friendly and efficient counter service functions.
  • Stocks and inventories food items.
  • Occasionally assists with other center activities, such as birthday parties, special events, and other functions.
  • Integrates safety into all aspects of grill-related work.
  • Maintains safety and security of facility.
  • Responsible for equipment at facility and ensures proper storage and inventory are completed daily.
  • Performs cashier duties, including greeting customers, handling customer inquiries, accepting payment, and completing all necessary reporting and record keeping documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Info

Obtain a Food Handler’s Permit upon being hired
Preferred – Six months of experience working in a grill or similar food and beverage environment.
Wage: Based on experience (Hourly)

Bartender/Server

Position Summary (Part-Time)

 

The Bartender prepares and serves food, alcohol, and other beverages to customers in an efficient and pleasant manner and according to Sun Valley Lanes standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilites

  • Takes food and beverage orders from customers; serves food and beverages, accepts payment and makes correct change.
  • Serves alcohol, other beverages, and food, in measured quantities.
  • Practices suggestive and upselling marketing techniques.
  • Adheres to local and state regulations for food service.
  • Maintains the sanitation and organization of bar wares and supplies, bar, lounge, and serving areas according to local regulations and SVL standards. Washes, rinses, and sanitizes bar wares and utensils.
  • Receives alcoholic beverage and supplies when necessary. Verifies the quality and accuracy of all deliveries and invoices to ensure correct costing and billing by vendors.
  • Adheres to all state, local and SVL regulations and laws concerning the service of food and beverage products.

High School Diploma and three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Obtain a Food Handler’s Permit as well as all required Serving Permits upon being hired

 

Birthday Party Host
Position Summary (Part-Time)

 

Do you have terrific customer service skills? Do you enjoy hosting parties? Then this is the job for you! Our birthday party hosts assist in conducting birthday parties at our center. This is typically a weekend position, so if you are looking for a FUN part-time job, this is the position for you! Our hosts help to ensure that our guest of honor and their friends are having a great time!

Lane Attendant

Position Summary (Part-Time)

Lane Attendants instruct and assist customers in the proper use of the automatic scoring, as well as, assisting the Counter Control Operator when needed. They are also responsible for maintaining the highest possible cleaning standards by following cleaning guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide pleasant and efficient customer service to bowling center customers, and maintain the bowling area, concourse, restrooms and parking lot.
  • Assist bowlers to lanes; explain the automatic scoring system, enter names and demonstrate the call button.
  • Assist bowlers with scoring corrections and ball selection.
  • Provide bowlers with basic bowling instructions.
  • Periodically check on and assist open play and managed play.
  • Anticipate bowler needs and respond immediately.
  • Immediately correct or report potential safety hazards.
  • Keep concourse, storage area, bowler area, restrooms and parking lot neat, clean and free of trash.
  • Wipe up spills and mark wet floors with ‘Caution Wet Floor’ signs.
  • Keep restrooms fully stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.
  • Remove house balls from ball returns and place them on house ball racks after customers leave the lane.
  • Be a strong team player and manage multiple tasks at one time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Attractions Attendant

Position Summary (Part-Time Nights/Weekends)

Attraction Attendants are responsible for the operation of our various different attractions.  Job duties might include arcade/redemption attendant, laser tag marshal, Lucky Putt attendant, volleyball attendant, porter/floor attendant, or front desk attendant.  These positions are primarily Friday, Saturday, and Sunday positions, with the possibility of some weekday evenings.

Pinspotter Technician
Position Summary (Part-Time)

Pinspotter Technicians repair and maintain automatic pinspotters, lane and scoring equipment, and all other bowling center equipment at the highest level of operating proficiency. Assists in the repair and maintenance of the bowling facility. Performs preventive maintenance, cleaning and /or minor repairs as directed by the Chief Technician.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for immediately correcting all minor malfunctions of the automatic pinspotter
  • Oil lanes with Kegel Kustodian Walker lane machine.
  • Repairs or replaces broken pieces of the pinspotter.
  • Performs service on automatic pinspotter correcting pin jams and minor malfunctions and recording stops in TCS computer program.
  • Keeps pit and stop area neat and clean at all times.
  • Maintains safe environment for guests, employees and self.
  • Assists Chief Technician in maintenance of facility, including minor repairs of the building and preventative maintenance schedule on pinspotters.
  • Assists all staff in providing excellent customer service to all guests.

Shift Manager

Job Description – Shift Manager

The Shift Manager assists the General Manager and the Assistant Manager(s) in all aspects of center operations and floor management, including entertainment, food, beverage, equipment, and property to facilitate the fulfillment of financial goals and company initiatives. In the General or Assistant Manager’s absence, the Shift Manager assumes responsibility for center operations.

· Consistently delivers exceptional customer service through execution of Sun Valley Lanes & Games Service
Standards. Proactively builds customer relations through soliciting feedback and addressing and resolving customer complaints. Administers staffing levels to appropriately meet the needs of the business and maximize the customer experience.

· Capitalizes business opportunities in the market area by executing Company marketing strategies to drive sales in league, open and managed play bowling.

· Develops and maintains league business through effective relationships with league participants/officers, adherence to league formats, distribution of announcements of league activities, and the management of other related administrative duties.

· Team management and development responsibilities to include mentoring, coaching and training of hourly center staff. Leads and influences staff through effective motivation, leveraging individual strengths to ensure customer satisfaction and maximum productivity.

· Promotes positive employee relations including effective delegation of duties, fostering high staff morale, collaborating successfully with the entire management team.

· Ensures compliance with all applicable occupational, health, and safety regulations and laws. Creates an environment where safety comes first and all employees strictly adhere to Sun Valley Lanes & Games Operating
Standards

· Ensures all alcoholic beverage servers are properly trained and that the center complies with local alcohol regulations at all times.

Requirements

Managers possess a strong sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity, respect for all individuals (customers, vendors, and employees), solid communication skills, strong critical and analytical thinking skills, and appreciation of diversity (thought, ethnic, gender, etc.).

Managers must be dedicated team players and people developers, and possess a strong desire to grow, develop, and become future general manager candidates.

Managers must be willing to work evening and weekend hours, supporting potential revenue income hours of the facility.

The skills and abilities are normally acquired through the receipt of High School Diploma and a minimum of three years management experience in high-volume retail, entertainment, hospitality, or restaurant venue. Relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
